Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies!! Our school theme lended itself perfectly to our nutrition unit. The past month we have studied the food pyramid which included the different food groups, what each food group does for the body, foods that belong in each group, and we put together a food pyramid of our own. Check out the bulletin board outside of the classroom the next time you are at WES. We also discussed the importance of exercise. Each student reflected on the exercise he/she gets each day.
During centers, the class created a grocery store. They collected food items from home, created coupons and money, and loved playing at the grocery store. Take a look at the pictures and the learning standards the kids met while playing!
